Microsoft Redirector File

If you are experiencing data corruption issues and other problems, such as file locking errors, file seek errors, and system crashes following the addition of customers, inventory or vendors on-the-fly, the reason for your problems may lie in a network redirector file that Microsoft ships with Windows 95 OSR2. In certain cases, simply updating this redirector file is the only solution necessary.

The update is for Windows 95¨ users only. If you are not running the OSR2 version of Windows 95, you must upgrade immediately. To upgrade, simply download the Microsoft update file VRDRUPD.EXE. Updating this file copies two files to your hard disk that are critical to the proper operation of Microsoft Networks, VREDIR.VXD and VNETSUP.VXD. Once the files have been installed, make sure to reboot your computer.

The file VRDRUPD.EXE is currently available from the Reporting to the MAX including Point of Sale and Non-profit Versions Bulletin Board ((208) 323-9011), our web site (www.cmstothemax.com), and from the Microsoft Software Library.
