Question:
A CodeBasic Error Message -910 occurs. The error text is
"Unexpected Information or Database file already open.
Database structure error. Either a blank record has been
appended to the data file or the fields in the existing data
file do not match the file structure being read or written
to."
Answer:
1. If a blank record exists at the bottom of the
file, delete it and correct the condition that caused it
(e.g., duplicate invoice or check number.)
2. If there is no blank record or no filename is listed on
the error, have all users exit CMS, reindex, and force a
Windows to Windows Conversion at the server machine.
3. If the problem is not corrected by the Windows to Windows
conversion (or reappears on the same file after a reindex,)
then the customer may have a corrupt main dictionary file,
DEFAULT.MDB.
To fix a corrupted dictionary file.
1. Rename the DEFAULT.MDB.
2. Reinstall from CD.
3. Install the current service pack.
Or you can rename the CMSWIN folder, create a clean install
on the current service pack and pull the data over from the
old install.
More Information
Do not copy the DEFAULT.MDB from a different system. A
file taken from different version of the software, may cause
additional issues or it could be corrupted during transit.
