To change settings in the config.nt file for Windows 2000, XP, and 2003:
1) Search for the config.nt file in the local C drive. At least two files should appear in your search results
2) Select the file that is in the system32 folder. If a message appears stating “Windows cannot open this program” choose Notepad from the list of applications that appears and click OK.
3) A line stating Files=x (where x is a number) will appear at the bottom of the file. Change the number listed to 250. Click file and save. Close the file.
