Reporting to the MAX including Point of Sale and Non-profit Versions Tech Tip

 Question:
When installing Point of Sale or Accounting for Windows, the installation reaches 90%, then Reporting to the MAX including Point of Sale and Non-profit Versions generates an error stating "... caused an access violation in cmsvers.exe".  This error occurs when attempting to install the ddeml.dll file.

This error occurs when installing on a computer with XP professional, however, it may occur on other operating systems.


Answer:

1) During the installation a prompt will appear asking if you would like to install the Users Guide. Click No.

2) When the error appears, click Cancel and the installation will continue.
 

More Information

After installing Reporting to the MAX including Point of Sale and Non-profit Versions, select Install Users Guide and Readers from the installation main menu to install the Users Guides.
