Type Mismatch Error

 

Answer:

Problem

When opening up CMS we get an error message, Type Mismatch Error.

CMS may not operate and/or some CMS reports and functions may report incorrect amounts or not work at all.

Cause

The Regional Setting (or Regional Options) on the machine are incorrect. The use of this setting, with the four-digit year, is also essential for proper date function in the year 2000 or later

Solution

Check the language in the Regional Settings window in the Windows Control Panel and make sure that it is set to English (United States). English (U.K.) or other settings will not work. Also, check the Short Date Style on the Date tab in the window and make sure it is set to "MM/dd/yyyy". If it is set to anything but this format, CMS may not operate and/or some CMS reports and functions may report incorrect amounts or not work at all. The use of this setting, with the four-digit year, is also essential for proper date function in the year 2000 or later.

  1. Start > Settings > Control Panel
  2. Click Regional Options
  3. Click the Customize button
  4. Click the Date Tab
  5. Check the Short Date Format
