Question:
All invoice items are being taxed when the invoice tax code is set to No Tax

 

Problem
When entering invoices - all lines are being taxed even though the customer is a no tax customer and the invoice tax code is set to NT.

Cause
This is caused by using non-inventory tax codes with the taxable box checked and the tax code filled in.

Resolution
To resolve this issue remove the tax code on the non-inventory code in Order Entry and Point of Sale.

Check Non-Inventory codes in Order Entry.
1. Open Order Entry.
2. Click on Options> Codes > Non-Inventory
3. Go through all the codes and uncheck the Taxable box on the codes that should not be taxed.
3a. To uncheck the box - click on Edit">
