Yearend Physical Inventory for the Reporting to the MAX

    • Year-End Inventory

Cougar Mtn’s inventory system is not date sensitive.      So you need to run the inventory as of year end.

In addition, I would do the following to help your record keeping.

Put an inventory transaction in to zero all your inventory as of the day before last day of your fiscal year (there is a special technique for this)  and date all your transactions for the last day of the fiscal year the day before (the best way to do all of this is to do it in Excel and then upload).

Then enter the physical inventory as of the last day of your fiscal year and nothing else gets posted to inventory on that day.

It might be a good idea to date the first day of the new fiscal year as of two days into the new fiscal year.

What this will do is the following:

  • I could write a report in to be able to get your physical inventory out of the history file.
  • Whenever you want to trace the activity since the inventory, its easily possible, you can decide whether to include or exclude the inventory
