Question:
Error Message- Unable To Establish DDE Connection In Data Exchange

 

Answer:
This error happens because Reporting to the MAX is installed too deep into directories (folders). An example of Cougar Mountain installed too deep is where the location of the Cougar Mountain program is M:\ACCT\COUGAR\CMSWIN\CMSMAIN.EXE. (to see what the path is, right click on the Reporting to the MAX shortcut and choose Properties. Look at the filed, Target.).

Solution:
Reporting to the MAX would need to be reinstalled to a directory closer to the root of the local disk (C:). Using the same example, the proper path in this example would be M:\CMSWIN\CMSMAIN.EXE.
