Reporting to the MAX including Point of Sale and Non-profit Versions DOS to
Windows® Conversion Compatibility Chart
for the Reporting to the MAX
Upgrading your Reporting to the MAX including Point of Sale and Non-profit Versions ACTPlus or
Fund DOS Version to the Windows® version requires the latest version of the DOS
application. The DOS to Windows® conversion script files and programs were written to
convert from the latest version in DOS. The only exception to this is the Fund Accounting
DOS version. You can convert from either version 10.6 or version 14.x to Fund Accounting
for Windows® . The current version of ACTPlus is version 14.x, which is the only ACTPlus
version that can be converted to either Point of Sale for Windows® or Accounting for
Windows® .
Listed are various possible combinations of installations
of the DOS versions of Reporting to the MAX including Point of Sale and Non-profit Versions and what Reporting to the MAX for Windows®
products are needed to convert the application. This list presumes that you want to
maintain the same installed applications in Windows® as you had in DOS. You do not have
to convert everything. For example, if you have ACTPlus Accounting and Payroll DE6, you
can convert only the ACTPlus to Accounting for Windows® . Also, Payroll is a standard
application in ACTPlus Accounting. If you do not use Payroll in DOS, you do not have to
install Payroll for Windows® when converting.
The number of users originally installed does not determine
the number of users to be converted. A 2-user application in DOS can be converted to a
250-user in Windows® and vice versa.
If you have the current payroll tax tables in your ACTPlus
Accounting application, either manually entered or installed using the Payroll Tax Update
disk, this information will convert to Payroll for Windows® . You would not need to
purchase a Payroll for Windows® Tax Update disk unless or until a new version has been
released with new tax table information.
If you have any of these DOS Add Ons
*MLI, BOT, JC, DQ, BOM, Bridge for Bartender, or Telemagic Bridge, their equivalent does not exist in
Reporting to the MAX Accounting for Windows® and thus will not convert. Reports created with
DOS GL Report Generator will not convert to Windows® . These reports will have to be
recreated using Reporting to the MAX Report Writer for Windows® .
DOS TO WINDOWS® CONVERSION FOR *MLI USERS - If you are
currently using Multi-Location Inventory with ACTPlus Accounting or StoreWare, and wish to
convert to Point of Sale for Windows® , you must perform a few simple steps prior to
conversion. First, transfer all of your Inventory stock items to one location. After
transferring the quantities, delete the extra stock item locations. Finally, reindex and
pack your data files. You are now ready to start the conversion.
*Note: When Version 4.5 in Windows® is released, a
Windows® version of MLI will follow, then conversion from DOS MLI to Windows® MLI will
be possible.
