Question:
When dialing out to approve a credit card transaction, an error
message saying PC Charge Pro has detected an invalid merchant
number occurs.
Answer:
The merchant number in PC Charge Pro must match the
merchant number in Reporting to the MAX including Point of Sale and Non-profit Versions.
Resolution
Verify that on the status bar (second section) in PC Charge Pro
there is a merchant
number and that it is the same as the number in
the merchant setup inside Reporting to the MAX including Point of Sale and Non-profit Versions.
To check the merchant number in PC Charge Pro, follow the steps
below.
1. Open PC Charge Pro.
2. Look at the second gray section at the bottom and that will
tell you your merchant number.

the steps below.
1. Open Reporting to the MAX including Point of Sale and Non-profit Versions
2. Click on options, then click on Set up Merchant information.
3. Verify the merchant account number matches the number in PC
Charge.
