Debug Assertion Failed when Running Backup or Restore
Question:
When starting the Backup or Restore procedure, an error message occurs
stating:
Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library, Debug Assertion Failed!
Program: C:\CMSWIN\ZipDlg.exe*
File: occmgr.cpp
Line: 410
Answer:
This problem occurs when the COM object XceedZip.dll is unregistered or
is registered to a different location.
Resolution
It is necessary to register the dll file from the Reporting to the MAX
installation folder.
On versions 8.5 and higher:
1. Browse to the CMSWIN* folder.
2. Find the file RegXceed.exe.
3. Double click on the file or right click and choose Open to run the program.
On versions 8.0, 8.0a, and 8.0b, the steps to register the dll are:
1. Browse to the CMSWIN* folder.
2. Find the file XceedZip.dll.
3. Right click it, select Open With and Choose Program.
4. When cautioned, "You are attempting to open a file of type Application.
(dll)" click on the Open With button.
5. In the resulting Open With window, click on the Other button.
6. Browse to \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\regsvr32.exe for (WIN98), or
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\regsvr32.exe for (2000 or XP).
7. Select Open and then click on OK.
Either method should return a message stating, "Dll Register Server in C:\CMSWIN\XceedZip.dll
succeeded."
