Question:
How do I create a Reporting to the MAX backup?


Answer:

 

Creating a backup in version 8.0x and above

  1. Open CMS
  2. Select the company to backup.
  3. Select Options > backup Company (Organization in Fund) > Backup
  4. Leave the default directory selected
  5. Verify that the Data box is checked.
  6. If you have customized any reports or have inventory images, check the reports and/or images check box also.
  7. Click ok
  8. When the backup has completed, a message will be displayed.

Creating a backup in version 7.1b and below

  1. Open CMS
  2. Select the company to backup.
  3. Select Options > file maintenance > backup Company (Organization in Fund) > Backup
  4. Leave the default directory selected
  5. Click ok.
  6. When the backup has completed, a message will be displayed.

Restoring a backup

Note: Once a backup is restored Cougar Mountain Software may run it's conversion utility (This may take some time). Once that is complete the current data will be overwritten with the data that was restored.

  1. Login to the company you want to restore
  2. Click on Options > Backup Company > Restore
  3. Browse to the location where your CMS backup is (i.e. C:\Cougar\cmswin\XXXDATA\Backups\Mon\Data\XXXDATA.zip)
  4. Ensure the File name to restore reads XXXDATA.zip
  5. Ensure the Destination Path reads the right location (i.e. C:\Cougar\cmswin\XXXDATA)
  6. Click ok
