Soulsville USA
Memphis Tennessee
Phyllis Fickling,
Business Controller
May 10, 2002

Soulsville's Controller, Phyllis Fickling, turned to Reporting to the MAX including Point of Sale and Non-profit Versions shortly after joining the organization that is building the Stax Museum of American Soul Music and the Stax Music Academy in Soulsville, USA - Memphis, TN. According to Fickling, "The Stax Museum, part of Soulsville's $20 million neighborhood revitalization effort, will feature Soul Music legendary greats such as Otis Redding, Booker T. & the MGs, Isaac Hayes, Sam & Dave, Albert King, Aretha Franklin and Al Green." The Stax Music Academy, a 2-story, 27,000 square foot facility, will provide after-school contemporary music education programs to attract mostly at-risk children.

The Stax Music Academy will provide inner-city youth a place to explore their musical heritage and hone their musical abilities. Soulsville's main objective is keeping neighborhood children safe and off the streets by offering them a sense of hope and belonging through the after school music academy. Providing stability, scalability, and a flexible non-profit accounting environment is our main objective at Reporting to the MAX including Point of Sale and Non-profit Versions. "Reporting to the MAX's FUND® Accounting for Windows® software provides me with all the essential elements I need to function successfully in my daily operations," Fickling replied.

Fickling went on to explain that the Cougar U software training was a beneficial component of her FUND® accounting software purchase. "Cougar U training helped illustrate the many accounting tools available and provided me with a better understanding of the capabilities of the software I purchased. Reporting to the MAX's software will be able to expand along with my organization and offers simplified reporting for the various departments within," said Fickling. She also stated that the one-week training session, located at Reporting to the MAX including Point of Sale and Non-profit Versions's Boise, Idaho headquarters, was an invaluable resource that helped her realize the full potential of the Reporting to the MAX including Point of Sale and Non-profit Versions product she purchased.

In addition to the useful Cougar U training, Fickling also appreciates the support and attention she receives from her FUND Accounting Sales Rep, Fred Tank. "Fred has been handling our Soulsville USA account since the beginning. When I have issues that need to be resolved or if clarification on product features is needed, Fred takes the time to walk me through each step until we reach resolution. If the issue is out of his scope, he contacts the appropriate person who internally will help facilitate a solution. I appreciate Fred's dedication and support."

Fickling is pleased with the enhanced features Reporting to the MAX including Point of Sale and Non-profit Versions has brought to her organization - structure and automation. "Reporting to the MAX including Point of Sale and Non-profit Versions allows me the flexibility to build in customized reports unique to my organization. This feature makes reporting very user-friendly, even for the non-financial people. With all of the built in checks and balances, it really is error-proof."

Having peace of mind with regard to her accounting software, Fickling is able to focus her time and attention on the more important objectives of the Soulsville project - attracting urban youth to the Stax Music Academy for programs that encourage positive life choices while acquainting them with their rich music heritage and culture.
