FIXING ERRORS ON A 
POSTED A/P CHECK ERRORS
(AMOUNT ERRORS, VENDOR
 ERROR & DATE ERROR)
IN Reporting to the MAX'S DOS VERSION

1.  IT MAYBE ADVISABLE TO SET THE FISCAL CALENDAR TO THE PERIOD BE CORRECTED SO THAT THE POSTING DATE IS EXACTLY THE INVOICE DATE.

2.  GO INTO A/P, PAYMENT & INVOICE PROCESSING, SET BATCH (IF NECESSARY)

6.  ENTER THE SAME CHECK DATE AS THE ORIGINAL CHECK.

 

 

7.  IN THE REFERENCE FIELD, DO A LOOKUP (F10), AND PICK THE INVOICE NUMBER.

8.  ENTER A DESCRIPTION TO DOCUMENT THE REASON FOR THE CORRECTION.

9.  ENTER THE APPROPRIATE G/L ACCOUNT NUMBER AND THEN THE DOLLAR AMOUNT, THEN HIT <SAVE>F6.

10. PRINT THE EDIT REPORT, CHECK IT AND THEN POST IT.

11.  NOW THE ORIGINAL ENTRY IS REVERSED, DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF ERROR BEING CORRECTED, THE CORRECT DATA SHOULD BE ENTERED IN INVOICE ENTRY.

12. IF THE FISCAL CALENDAR RESET IN STEP #1, THEN IT SHOULD BE RESET.

13.  AFTER EVERYTHING IS POSTED, A REVIEW OF THE VENDOR THROUGH VENDOR MAINTENANCE, CHANGE GENERAL INFORMATION AND LOOKUP DETAIL TO REVIEW THAT EVERYTHING IS APPROPRIATE.
