What is Ranking and Why Is It Important? - Google

When a person types something into an online search, a page with 10 search results appears. The sites that are listed at the top of the page (1, 2, and 3) are ranked higher than the sites at the bottom of the page (8, 9, and 10).  Chances are, the person doing the search will “click” on the first of the results, hence the “higher” ranking. In other words, the higher up on the search results list that you are, the higher your chances of getting a “hit.”

Web site search engine ranking is a crucial factor in:

*Driving visitors to your web site, therefore...

*Presenting your offer to larger numbers of visitors, therefore...

*Getting as many sales as possible!!

If your web site is not ranking well in search engines, you won't get visitors...and you won't get the sales from those visitors. Therefore, a high ranking is of the utmost importance!

Did you know that 80% of all web search engine results are delivered by Google™? You can use Google™ directly, or you can see Google's results in Yahoo! or other search engines. However, the ranking of your web site in Google™ will be a HUGE factor in delivering results.
