If you have a dedicated fax line, with
taxes its probably costing you between $25-40 per month. You can keep
the same number transfer that service to an internet fax service and the
monthly cost will drop to $3-20/month.
You lose the scanner ability but
you can use a PC scanner or use your existing fax scanner tied into
another line to get this ability. You also pick up the ability fax
directly out of any windows program. In an enterprise situation, all
PC's can share a single fax service (even multiple locations)
In addition to the fixed charge, most
internet services give you free long distance.
I use smartfax.com, which costs $7-15
and can include a toll free inbound fax number.
